The popular caterers already operate food and beverage concessions at golf courses and other public attractions in Putnam County, Rockland County, White Plains and Yonkers.
Town of Rye Supervisor Gary Zuckerman announced that the Rye Town Park Commission successfully finalized an agreement with the new food concessionaire for the beach in time for the 2017 season.
“We are thrilled to have signed a license agreement for the former Seaside Johnnies space with Al and Joe Ciuffetelli of Homestyle Catering, and we are excited to have them begin their work so they can open by the start of the season,” Zuckerman said, adding that the keys were turned over on Thursday.
The Park Commission had retained a restaurant consultant to review proposals from various food service operators for the 2017 season. The consultant worked with a steering committee named by the Commission to make recommendations. The response was very strong with Homestyle Catering being clearly preferred.
Homestyle currently services the food concessions at Putnam County Golf Course, “The Mansion” at Blue Hill Golf Course in Pearl River and “The Fairways” at Dunwoodie Golf Course in Yonkers. The firm is also servicing Murray’s skating rink in Yonkers and the Westchester County Center in White Plains.
Al Ciuffetelli and his brother come very highly recommended and are proposing a menu that will feature seafood, but have enough other offerings to satisfy any taste, Rye Town Park officials said. The carry-and-go beachside service will feature a Nathan’s Famous™ style menu, they said.
It is expected the name of the new restaurant and snack bar will be the Ocean Grill.
